Description
Laser Diffraction Sarcomere Length Fiber AnalyzerFor sale- a Laser Diffraction Sarcomere Length Analyzer.
OK, actually I have NO idea what the thing is.
As I recall the auction info said it was a fiber analyzer, and it looked pretty spiffy so I bought it.
But I can’t find a brand name on it anywhere so I gave up and it got set aside and forgotten until now.
Now I would like to find a new home for it.
I had assumed when I bought it that eventually I would find a brand name on it somewhere.
I have not, when I removed the back of the two racks looking each piece has a model number on it but still no brand name.
I may get curious enough to pull some of the electronics out of the rack, maybe even open them up, but for now they are unidentified.
I feel pretty certain that the electronics in particular are from Germany.
The shock hazard label on the back of the racks leads off with a warning in German, the model numbers are handwritten on each piece and the “1” (or maybe the “7”) is very stylized, plus the laser in the optics unit is labeled in German and the AC strip for the individual components has the round two prong plug in that you would find on european electronics.
Not much to go on but it’s the best I got.
Most of the electronics have fairly generic labeling, such as PHOTOMETER, INTERFACE, FORCE TRANSDUCER, FEEDBACK, etc.
There are two racks of electronics included, one rack has a piece marked SARCOMERE LENGTH and the smaller rack has one marked AT PASE.
Both of those pull up some pretty specific stuff on the web.
The sarcomere length referenced back to muscle fiber in particular and measuring it with laser diffraction.
The ATPASE produced a definition- “an enzyme that hydrolyzes ATP; especially one that hydrolyzes ATP to ADP and inorganic phosphate”.
How that figures into it I won’t even pretend to understand.
Hopefully you recognize some of the equipment and can either use it yourself or are at least willing to share with me more of the particulars of this system.
Please review the pictures carefully, as you will receive exactly and ONLY what you see- two racks of electronics and an optical/material handling cube about 3x2x2 feet high.
If that isn’t everything you need to analyze whatever this is supposed to analyze then you will have to source the missing parts of the equation elsewhere.
Both electronics racks power up.
Beyond that the system is untested, sold as is, and NO warranty is offered.
Given the shipping cost involved I don’t think offering a return privilege makes any sense.
Please buy it to own it, as no returns will be accepted and if repairs are required at your end they will be at your expense.

Check back often!
Sold as is, as described, as pictured.
Potential buyers are asked to please make sure you have read the listing carefully, and understand what you are buying.
Ebay’s condition codes for used items, which I am now required to select from, might imply a degree of functionality that my limited time, knowledge, and facilities do not allow me to ascertain.
If the functional condition of the item is known it will be stated as such in the listing.
Unless a warranty is specifically offered returns are not accepted regardless of any implied functionality.
Payment is expected within 7 days of the close of the sale and I need to hear from you within 3 days to confirm the transaction.
Shipping anywhere in the continental US is FREE!!
International shipments, plus Alaska and Hawaii for actual shipping costs via USPS.
Shipping will be motor freight on a pallet unless you would like to come pick it up.
I would estimate the shipping weight at around 250 pounds.
I would estimate the freight cost for that at between 0 and 0 to the east and west coast respectively.
Residential deliveries, deliveries that require liftgates, deliveries to the boonies, and deliveries to schools or universities will all be more because it takes longer for the carrier to get the job done.
Shipping will be via Old Dominion Freight Lines, which has done a consistently good job getting my shipments where they are going without roughing them up.
I will be happy to quote you for the shipment, but I need to know the zip code, residential or commercial, and whether a lift gate will be required.
If you would prefer to use another carrier that’s fine .
It will be shipping from a warehouse with a loading dock in zip code 23093, but I do not live there!
I require pickup confirmation the day before and your carrier must provide an emailed printable copy of the Bill of Lading so that there is paperwork available for the driver to sign when he gets there.
The BOL should have all the info filled out when I receive it, blank copies are unacceptable.
I can ship this to Canada via Old Dominion, but they do not offer customs brokerage services, so you would need to have your own customs broker lined up before it shipped.
